Buying from us

Terms and Conditions

Last updated 9 September 2026

These terms apply when you purchase a book or other product from the Millbridge Press website. Please read them before placing your order.

1. About us

Millbridge Press is the trading name of John Tosh.

Our contact details are:

Millbridge Press
24 Molesworth Road
Plymouth
PL1 5LZ
United Kingdom

Email: info@millbridgepress.co.uk

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to John Tosh trading as Millbridge Press. “You” and “your” refer to the person placing the order.

2. Placing an order

Our product pages describe the books and products available, including their prices and formats.

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the items in your basket in accordance with these terms. You will receive an email acknowledging your order.

A contract between us is formed when we accept your order. We may decline or cancel an order if:

  • an item is unavailable

  • the price or product information contains an obvious error

  • we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment

  • we cannot deliver to the address supplied

  • we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity

If we cannot accept an order for which payment has already been taken, we will refund the amount paid.

Please check your order and delivery information carefully before submitting it. Contact us as soon as possible if you discover an error.

3. Products

We take reasonable care to describe and display our books accurately.

Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device. Minor variations may also occur between different printings or editions of a book. These variations do not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty or not as described.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes.

Delivery charges are shown separately before you place your order. The total amount payable will be displayed at checkout.

Payment is processed securely through the payment methods offered at checkout. Your order may not be dispatched until payment has been authorised.

We may change our prices at any time, but this will not affect an order we have already accepted.

5. Delivery

We currently deliver only to addresses accepted by our checkout.

Available delivery methods and charges will be shown before you place your order. Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a specific date with you.

We will deliver your order without undue delay and, unless we have agreed otherwise with you, within 30 days of accepting it.

Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays or failed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by you.

The products become your responsibility when they are delivered to you or to a person you have nominated to receive them.

If an order is returned to us because delivery could not be completed, please contact us. An additional delivery charge may be required before the order can be sent again where the failed delivery was caused by an incorrect address or another matter within your control.

6. Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer purchasing online, you normally have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.

The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone nominated by you, receives the goods. If an order is delivered in separate parcels, the period ends 14 days after the final parcel is received.

You may also cancel before your order is dispatched.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must tell us clearly that you wish to cancel. You can email info@millbridgepress.co.uk or write to us at the address above. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to.

If you cancel after the goods have been dispatched, you must return them to us within 14 days of telling us that you wish to cancel.

7. Returning an unwanted item

Please return unwanted items to:

Millbridge Press
24 Molesworth Road
Plymouth
PL1 5LZ
United Kingdom

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning an unwanted item. We recommend obtaining proof of postage because the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us.

You may inspect a book as you would in a shop. We may reduce the refund if its value has been diminished because it has been handled more than was reasonably necessary to establish its nature and condition.

This right to cancel may not apply to personalised or custom-made products. Any applicable exception will be made clear before you order.

8. Refunds following cancellation

If you cancel the whole order, we will refund:

  • the price paid for the returned products

  • the cost of our least expensive standard delivery method, where a delivery charge was paid

If you selected a more expensive delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional cost.

We will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or, if earlier, within 14 days of receiving satisfactory evidence that you have sent them back.

If the order had not been dispatched when you cancelled it, we will refund you within 14 days of being told about the cancellation.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless we agree otherwise. We will not charge a fee for issuing the refund.

9. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

We have a legal duty to supply products that are as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their intended purpose.

If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described or is not the item you ordered, please contact us at info@millbridgepress.co.uk. If possible, include your order number and photographs showing the problem.

We will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights. This may include a replacement, repair, price reduction or refund. We will meet reasonable return costs where the item is faulty, damaged, misdescribed or supplied incorrectly.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer law.

10. Delays outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.

If such an event significantly delays your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. If delivery is likely to be substantially delayed, you may contact us to cancel the order and receive a refund for any products you have paid for but not received.

11. Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • breach of your statutory consumer rights

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

Products sold through this website are intended for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or goodwill.

12. Personal information

We use your personal information to process and fulfil your order, communicate with you and meet our legal obligations.
